Powerstrips, the scare resource of SXSW
Powerstrips are apparently the scare resource of South By Southwest. If you have one, you will immediately start attracting friends and fun. Instant party.

This is always very interesting to me.
As a matter of course, I always try to help people out, and so, I have been known to give money to people who ask for a buck or two. But it’s interesting that DS just put out a tip jar at events on his recent book tour and took in an extra $4000. He claimed that it was for candy. I’m bemused that people are so ready to give well-off (I won’t say DS is a millionaire without evidence, but let’s agree he does very well) authors money for candy, and so unwilling to give bums a chance to buy candy or cigarettes or booze or drugs or even food. I think it’s even more hypocritical when people get sanctimonious when they’re on the way to spend a lot of money on drinks at bars drugs just after doing some pre-partying with drinks and drugs at their homes and won’t help out another person who’d also like to get lit up.
